Our target
We design and build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is our working standard rather than a certified audit outcome; where we fall short we treat it as a defect to fix.
What we have implemented
Measures currently in place across the site include:
- Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a logical heading order.
- Visible keyboard focus styles and full keyboard operability for navigation, filters and forms.
- Colour pairings chosen for contrast, with a readability rule that switches text to dark on permanently light surfaces.
- Light and dark themes that both maintain contrast targets.
- Text alternatives for meaningful imagery and labelled form fields.
- Reduced-motion support: animations, the custom cursor and marquees are disabled when your system requests less motion.
- Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to small screens.
Known limitations
Embedded third-party video players and map frames are controlled by their providers, and their accessibility is outside our direct control. Where an embed blocks access to information, we will supply that information in another format on request.
